BREIF OVERVIEW

Ross is an award-winning VFX Supervisor, widely respected for his commercial work. He began his career in the VFX industry at The Mill London before moving to MPC, where he spent over a decade playing a key role in establishing their Los Angeles office and restructuring their film pipeline for the commercial sector. Throughout his distinguished career, Ross has collaborated with renowned directors and VFX artists, including Robert Stromberg, Rupert Sanders, John Dykstra, and many others. During his tenure at MPC, he worked across multiple offices in London, Los Angeles, New York City, Vancouver, and Mexico.

At Method LA, Ross’s approach to storytelling allowed him to seamlessly integrate agencies' creative ideas with directors’ artistic visions. He maintained close relationships with clients throughout all stages of production, while also leading efforts in bidding, quoting, and pitching new business. Known for his dedication to his craft and his ability to maintain a positive atmosphere on projects of any scale, Ross led several high-profile campaigns, including a Target Christmas campaign, alongside numerous commercials, music videos, TV trailers, and feature film shots.

While working at Eight VFX, Ross contributed to the growth of the boutique studio by applying his extensive knowledge of large-scale studio processes. He worked on various projects, including commercials, music videos, and feature films such as Melanie Martinez's “Mad Hatter”, Darren Aronofsky’s “Mother”, Craig Gillespie's “Apartments.com”, and "NBA 2K19" featuring LeBron James, directed by The Malloys.

At Artjail NYC, Ross was able to fully leverage his industry experience. After reconnecting with former colleagues, he played a pivotal role in building the VFX pipeline and establishing the studio's first CG department. This involved recruiting software engineers and external vendors to develop an efficient pipeline and transitioning the workflow to the cloud, allowing Artjail to expand to multiple sites across the United States. Ross also built a dynamic CG team, mentoring both junior and senior artists, while fostering their professional growth. His work at Artjail involved close collaboration with clients, set supervision, exploring new software, and contributing to in-house projects.

Ross’s experience at Ingenuity LA provided valuable exposure to the television industry, after years of working across commercials, TV, and film. During this time, he worked alongside talented artists and supervised several TV shows, further broadening his expertise. After careful consideration, Ross transitioned to freelancing, bringing with him a versatile skill set that allows him to serve in various roles, including artist, CG/VFX Supervisor, Set Supervisor, and Creative Director—essentially, solving any challenge that arises.

Ross’s distinguished credits include “Little Blue Pill” for Fiat, one of the standout spots of the 2015 Super Bowl, and “What Lives Inside”, featuring Oscar winner J.K. Simmons for Intel’s groundbreaking “Inside Films” series. His other notable credits include Xbox “Ryse: Son of Rome”, EA “Ignite”, Dell “Thomas”, and DirecTV “Hot House”, which earned numerous awards for Best Visual Effects from prestigious organizations, including the Clio and AICP Awards.
